This little scanner which will fit your pocket very neatly works on the multi-spectral imaging technology. The once-costly multi-spectral imaging technology has now seen a huge price dip as the hand held scanner uses the inexpensive narrowband filter mosiac developed by Georgia Tech researchers. This, in turn cuts the cost of hand held scanners drastically and makes them very affordable. With this device, even those untrained in medical science will be able to view and assess the different bruises and injuries sustained. Thus, this device becomes very handy in places with little or no access to medical facilities and also in war zones which need rugged devices. The best bit is that the near future will see these hand held medical scanners becoming commercially available.
